More than half of The Haven's guests are children.
We offer them hope for a better life.
We treat them with kindness.
We value them.
Our Children’s Advocate makes sure that kids’ needs are not overlooked while their families are in the crises of homelessness.
We have computers for them to use so they don’t fall behind in their studies or skills.
We have “homework clubs” run by staff & volunteers, who also model positive adult behavior. These are open to current and former guests, as well as other at-risk kids.
We take them on field trips to share with them a richer, more fulfilling world (including musical, theatrical, and sporting events).
We offer programs to help their parents be better parents.
We offer them an opportunity to escape the cycles of poverty, hopelessness, and despair their families are in.
We continue to work with them even after they leave The Haven.
